🥖 From Crumbs to Crust: How Feral N’ Wild Was Born

Posted by Kristin | Week 1

It started at my kitchen counter.

Just me, some flour-dusted bowls, a bubbling wild starter, and the hope that a crusty loaf might bring a little warmth to the table. I wasn’t chasing a business—I was chasing a feeling. A connection. A return to something real.

Baking sourdough for my family quickly became more than just feeding them—it became a rhythm, a ritual, a kind of grounding magic. And before I knew it, the bread that fed our home began to speak to something deeper in me: a desire to create for others, to share something feral and wild, something handmade, slow, and soulful in a world that rarely pauses to rise.

🌾 Why “Feral N’ Wild”?

I chose this name because it captures everything I love about baking naturally fermented bread: it’s untamed, unrushed, and alive. There’s a kind of quiet rebellion in choosing wild yeast over quick fixes, in waiting 48 hours for dough to develop instead of speeding things along. It’s rooted in instinct, patience, and trust. That’s what this bakery is about.

“Feral” is for the freedom—the freedom to create without constraint, to be gritty and raw and imperfect.“Wild” is for the nature of the starter, the process, and the spirit that shapes each loaf.

It’s a name that honors the wildness of creation and the sacred simplicity of feeding people well.

🧺 What You Can Expect

Feral N’ Wild is a cottage bakery based in Parker, Colorado, offering handmade sourdough loaves, rustic scones, and banana breads made with wild fermentation, love, and a little edge.

We offer:

  • Fresh scones (think: Blueberry Lavender or Lemon Thyme)

  • Moist, spiced banana breads (with rotating flavors)

  • Pre-order only, baked to order

  • Porch pickup in Parker (Fri–Sun) and custom delivery to Parker & RiNo

Everything is made in small batches, by hand, with care. No preservatives. No shortcuts. Just real ingredients, wild fermentation, and a passion for building something slow and beautiful.
